Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist I to support a wide range of human resources functions, including HR inquiries, and to play a key part in fostering a positive employee experience while ensuring HR processes run smoothly.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you will work closely with the Director of Human Resources to support a variety of HR initiatives and day-to-day operations. Key Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and employee lifecycle activities using Paycom (HRIS)
- Administer and respond to benefit and leave-related inquiries, including FMLA and short-term disability
- Support payroll processing and timecard approvals
- Manage training records, compliance tracking, and HR documentation
- Facilitate employee engagement events and the summer intern program
- Assist with recruiting, HR audits, employment verification, and performance management
- Serve as reception backup, answering calls and welcoming guests
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); HRIS experience is a plus
- Knowledge of employment law
