Job Description

Expeditor II

Location: Magnolia, Tx

Description:

The Expeditor understands the Canrig Procurement and Supply Chain (PSC) processes and systems to improve and maintain them.  He/she is responsible for tracking the orders, handling delivery delays, coordinating with the warehouse manager, and ensuring all orders have been shipped. The expeditor is responsible for ensuring Canrig has the supplies and inventory needed to function according to schedule.  Their duties include communicating with the suppliers about the status of supplies and problem-solving to reduce the impact of late shipments.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Expedites deliveries to meet business needs and schedules.
  • Update purchase orders promise dates, delivery locations and PO changes accordingly.
  • Develops and communicates on time delivery goals for key supplier base.
  • Contacts vendors for the purpose of verifying information and/or responding to inquiries.
  • Responds to inquiries for the purpose of resolving issues or referring to appropriate parties.
  • Collaborates with management in developing and communicating corrective action plans to bring suppliers into compliance.
  • Participates on implementation projects and participates as assigned on special projects.
  • Investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalf of management.
Minimum qualifications / Skills
  • High school diploma plus 3-4 years of direct expediting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • PC skills in word processing and spreadsheets required.
