Quality Coordinator
Location: Oklahoma City, Ok
Description:
Performs quality control, code compliance and on- site inspection. Supports Boiler Pressure Vessel Code repairs for the generating fleet. Responsible for maintaining company Quality Control manual, records and documentation.
- General responsibilities with standardized processes.
- Works under limited supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems.
- Refers the more complex issues to higher levels.
- Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.
- Some latitude for deviation.
- Maintain and interpret applicable Codes and Rules to advise generating fleet for repairs, alterations and maintenance.
- Advises and assists generating fleet with the preparation of Code Repair packages.
- Maintains Code Repair package and quality control documentation.
- Maintains State operating permits and facilitates operating permit inspections for State Boiler and Pressure Vessel equipment.
- Maintains Oklahoma Department of Labor Weld Test Facility License.
- Creates and maintains welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), procedure qualification tests (PQT), welder qualification tests (WQT).
- Prepares and administers welder qualification tests (WQT).
- Creates, prepares and maintains welder performance qualifications (WPQ).
- Maintains welder certifications and continuity.
- Performs on-site internal and external inspections of Boilers and Pressure Vessel equipment with Authorized Inspector as necessary.
- Maintains and ensures compliance with the Company's Quality Control manual and performs revisions, reviews and audit reviews.
- Performs audits of contractor quality control processes, documentation, repair packages, certifications.
- Provides guidance related to configuration control (Management of Change).
- May perform training related to applicable Codes and quality control for maintenance personnel.
- Coordinating with PSS Mechanical Engineering for Steam Piping Hanger Inspection

- High School Diploma/GED; AND 10 years experience in a related mechanical field (e.g., power plant, industrialized mechanical, military, etc.); OR Associate's Degree in a Technical discipline (e.g., Electronics, Engineering Technology, Power Plant Operations, etc.); AND 8 years experience in a related mechanical field (e.g., power plant, industrialized mechanical, military, etc.).
- Pass annual eye examination, with or without corrective lenses, to prove near vision acuity on Jaeger J2 at not less than 12 inches. (AWS B5.1 visual requirement for CWI).
- Pass annual color perception test. (AWS B5.1 visual requirement for CWI).
- Experience referencing and interpreting ASME BPVC Section IX.
- American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (Required)
- Valid Driver’s License (Required)
- Requires travel to company locations.
- May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include weekends, holidays, on- call and call-outs.
- May be required to lift fifty (50) pounds or more.
- May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding one hundred (100) feet, underground and in confined spaces.
- May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
- Field
- Member is required to drive in order to perform their job duties. Member is assigned a company vehicle and/or member must drive a company and/or personal vehicle to complete company business at least 50% of time.
