Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Technician to operate and maintain our Cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU). This role is responsible for ensuring optimal plant production, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a strong commitment to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate the Air Separation Facility to produce cryogenic products safely and efficiently.
- Control process variables such as flow, purity, and pressure using SCADA/HMI/PLC systems.
- Collaborate with management to maximize production and efficiency, adjusting flows and rates as needed.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Perform quality assurance functions to maintain product quality.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with safety, quality, regulatory, and production standards, including plant readings, maintenance logs, and calibration records.
- Identify potential issues through data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Execute complex plant operations, including DERIME and warm start-ups.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment such as compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, motors, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate process control and system equipment, including PLC, DCS, control valves, pneumatic and electronic instruments.
- Take initiative to improve plant operations, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Handle administrative tasks such as requisitioning, purchasing, production accounting, and payroll record-keeping.
- Maintain 100% compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, including cGMP standards.
- Promote a safety-first culture through safe work habits and behaviors.
- Participate in safety incident investigations and root cause analysis, recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, DHS, and other regulatory requirements, including proper training and documentation.
- Maintain instrumentation, electrical systems, compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, motors, and other plant equipment.
- Follow environmental, safety, quality assurance, and FDA compliance protocols.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance, including spare parts management.
- High school diploma or GED; technical college or military technical experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience operating an Air Separation Plant or related industrial facility.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve process and equipment issues independently.
- Proficiency with hand tools and test equipment for mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs.
- Basic understanding of water treatment principles, refrigeration systems, and air separation technologies is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and off-shift hours.
- Capable of working alone and in team environments.
- Must maintain continuous mental and visual attention to operate and repair equipment effectively.
