Designer II

Location: Houston, TX- Hybrid

Description:

The primary function of a Designer II is to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient design and delivery of drawings from conception to Issued-For-Construction status. This role will have a Multi-Discipline focus with responsibility related to pipeline survey and mapping disciplines and more specifically will lead the related As-Built and Walk-down efforts to ensure drawing accuracy supporting safety, operability, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide drafting and technical support for pipeline mapping projects.
  • Completes work with some supervision.
  • Understand land, survey, environmental data to be utilized as base maps for drawing production.
  • Prepare, load and maintain metadata for Survey & Mapping.
  • Use ESRI and Autodesk products to create, verify, re-project and modify vector and raster data.
  • Process data for Survey preliminary, construction and as-built to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Work alongside Survey Coordinators and Mapping Designers to execute Growth and Tactical projects.
  • Coordinates multiple design and drafting projects to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
  • Communicates with internal and external stakeholders to determine needs and satisfactions
  • Monitors and reports on third-party performance, progress, and quality.

Skills:
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of the operational & field environment for work practices and conditions, in process plants, gathering systems, pipelines, and chemical plants. Thorough knowledge and ability in the use of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Compatible software, ESRI ArcPRO experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and other administrative applications
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to handle a diverse range of multiple, complex assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment.
  • This position may require 5% travel.

Education/Experience:
  • Associate's degree in industrial design, architecture or engineering is preferred but not required.
  • 2-4 years experience in the oil and gas industry required.
