Description
What You Will Do in Your Role
- Configure and maintain SmartPlant Instrumentation databases and project environments in alignment with project and company requirements.
- Create new SPI projects and domains, and configure plant hierarchies, project settings, preferences, naming conventions, and supporting tables.
- Import P&ID tag and process data into new SPI projects using company-specific templates and standardized procedures.
- Collaborate with the SPI hosting company to manage user accounts, security groups, roles, and access rights.
- Configure, maintain, and standardize EDE views, reports, specification forms, browser views for various instrument types, and project-specific deliverables.
- Support instrumentation engineering workflows and deliverables, including instrument indexes, specification sheets, and hook-up assignments.
- Maintain SPI data integrity and system reliability through database validation, backup coordination, issue resolution, and disciplined change control.
- Troubleshoot application, database, configuration, reporting, and user-access issues; provide timely technical support; and escalate infrastructure issues to the SPI hosting company and/or IT support when needed.
- Develop and maintain SPI procedures, user guides, training materials, and project-specific administration documentation.
- Provide user training, coaching, and first-line support to promote consistent SPI workflows, accurate data entry, and efficient use of the application.
- Coordinate with Instrumentation Engineering and IT to standardize data imports into SPI projects.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and the IT support group to evaluate new engineering system architectures, automation initiatives, and technical solutions that improve project execution, data quality, and operational efficiency.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Three or more years of hands-on experience administrating SmartPlant Instrumentation in an EPC, refinery, petrochemical or similar industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation engineering workflows and deliverables, including instrument indexes, specifications, and hook-up details.
