Description:
The Safety Analyst is responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, and managing safety programs across multiple projects or operational areas to ensure a safe working environment. This role involves identifying safety risks. The Safety Analyst collaborates with project teams, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders to foster a safety-first culture and reduce workplace incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development & Implementation:
- Assist in developing contractor safety standards to be implemented and put through the companies management of change program. Ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Performance Monitoring & Metrics:
- Enter and track safety performance indicators, analyze trends, and prepare reports for management. Use data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Training & Education:
- Assist in organizing and conducting contractor safety roundtables in areas where company has project activity. Promote awareness of safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting:
- Assist in documentation collection and control of investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Prepare detailed reports, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all safety activities comply with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations. Maintain documentation for audits and inspections.
- Safety Culture Promotion:
- Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging employees at all levels, encouraging reporting of hazards, and recognizing safety excellence.
- Vendor & Contractor Oversight:
- Ensure contractors and vendors adhere to safety standards and policies. Conduct safety orientations and monitor their compliance during project execution.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with industry safety trends, regulations, and best practices. Recommend and implement innovative safety solutions.
- Preference for Associates degree or Certificate in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field (i.e. CHST, OHST, ASSP, CSP, COSS, CSHO, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience in safety management, preferably in industrial, construction, or energy sectors.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, ISNetworld, NCMS and other safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail orientated related to reports, safety analytical trends and other data tracking.
- Proficiency with safety management systems and MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, PowerApps).
- Office-based with periodic visits (apprx. 25%) to work sites or facilities.
- Expected to be in office 3 days a week minimum.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular hours for safety training, audits, tasks on deadline, or emergency response.
