Description:
The Construction Field Coordinator is an on-site owner-representative role responsible for coordinating pipe installation and system turnover activities in an operating industrial facility. This position supports safe, efficient, and high-quality execution by working with contractors, inspectors, engineering, operations, and project controls to drive installation, testing, punch resolution, documentation, and final handoff.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily piping installation, fit-up, support installation, testing readiness, reinstatement, and turnover preparation.
- Serve as the primary owner-rep field contact for contractors performing piping and system completion work.
- Verify work is executed in accordance with drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, work packages, specifications, and applicable code requirements.
- Support field inspections, quality hold points, NDE, testing, punch closure, redlines, and turnover package completion.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, inspection, engineering, and other field teams to manage tie-ins, shutdown windows, and live-unit interfaces.
- Track field issues, schedule barriers, and required completions through mechanical completion and final handoff.
- Reinforce HSSE expectations, participate in pre-task planning, and address unsafe or non-compliant field execution.
- Minimum 10 years of industrial construction experience with piping installation, testing, system completion, or turnover activities.
- Experience coordinating process or utility piping work in refinery, petrochemical, chemical, terminal, pipeline, or gas processing facilities.
- Working knowledge of piping drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, test packs, turnover packages, and field completion documentation.
- Demonstrated experience with the design and evaluation of piping systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 and B31.4
- Brownfield experience involving live-unit work, outages, tie-ins, or turnover execution.
- Experience with hydrotesting, pressure testing, reinstatement, line walks, and mechanical completion processes.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as an owner-representative with contractors, inspectors, and operations personnel.
- Previous owner-rep, or EPC field experience.
- Primarily field-based in an active industrial construction or operating facility.
- Requires regular walking, climbing, outdoor work, and use of required PPE.
- May require extended hours or weekend support during critical installation and turnover activities.
