Digital Print Operator II / Print Shop Bindery Operator

Location: Houston, TX

Description


The Bindery Operator is responsible for performing a full range of bindery and finishing functions in support of print production operations. This position requires prior experience in a print shop bindery environment and a thorough understanding of quality standards, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs related to bindery equipment). The Bindery Operator is expected to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all bindery equipment within the department, including but not limited to shrink wrappers, hole punchers, coil machines, booklet makers, score machines, laminators, round corner machines, padding machines, folders, business card cutters, and paper cutters.

The Bindery Operator must accurately read and interpret print ticket instructions to ensure all finishing work meets established specifications, quality expectations, and delivery timelines. The role requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, consistent adherence to punctuality and attendance standards, and a high level of reliability due to the business critical nature of print production operations.
  • This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating sound judgment, initiative, and accountability.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills are essential, as the Bindery Operator must effectively manage multiple tasks in a production environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, teamoriented approach are required to support departmental and organizational goals.

The successful candidate will be hardworking, detail, oriented, quality-conscious, and a quick learner, with a willingness to perform all necessary duties to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule. A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement is expected.

Required and Preferred Skills and Experience
