Job Description

GIS Records Analyst

Location: Houston, TX

Description:
The GIS Records Analyst will support regulatory compliance efforts by assisting with a DOT compliance class location study. The primary focus is on Phase 1 of the study, which involves spatial analysis and data validation using GIS tools and public data sources.

Responsibilities:
  • Document work progress and maintain accurate records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct Phase 1 of a DOT compliance class location study by:
    • Reviewing GIS ESRI pipeline maps, NPMS mapping, aerial imagery, and county property tax databases.
    • Identifying adjacent structures within 660 feet of company gas pipelines.
    • Categorizing structures to determine those likely intended for human occupancy, including public structures.
  • Analyze and validate data related to:
    • Adjacent structure types.
    • Ownership and operating type of adjacent pipelines.
  • Record and document:
    • GIS coordinates.
    • Structure types for each pipeline segment.
