Location: Tulsa, OK

Description: 
  • Perform direct and indirect tax (ad valorem, sales and use, unclaimed property) accounting and other tax functions of company and Affiliates using a specialized level of research, interpretation, and analysis related to indirect tax rules and strategies.
  • Direct federal and state monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings, tax returns and reports Identify and help develop and implement tax planning strategies.
  • Provide strategic consultation and advice on proposed transactions, business structures and operational/legal/tax structures to achieve optimal results. Help design and implement such transactions and structures to ensure accuracy and compliance in the execution of adopted strategies.
  • Monitor legislative changes in jurisdictions that may impact our tax positions, including tax accounting possible effects.
  • Assist Rates and Regulatory with tax support needed for rate case filings. Manage and assist with changing tax rates in the Banner system.
  • Work with accounting and finance personnel to refine processes, support our needs and goals of the organization, and ensure accurate reporting and compliance in each jurisdiction.
  • Identify, document, update existing documentation and measure tax positions. Develop and maintain tax policies and controls to support Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance.
  • Oversee tax audits including examinations, representations, appeals and dispute resolution.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual transactional and other regulatory tax filings.
  • Oversee the required property tax filings, payments, and annual negotiations.
  • Provide guidance, training and coaching to employees; help determine work priorities and job assignments. Administer mid-year and year-end performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
  • Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

What You Will Need
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or another related field.
  • Experience with and knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with analysis and application of federal, state and local taxation rules and policies.
  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including microcomputers and applicable software.
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing financial data, reports, audits, and regulatory publications.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting applicable company procedures, manuals, FASB pronouncements, governmental regulations, rate case orders, publications, financial statements, contracts, reports, and correspondence.
  • Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
  • Supervise, lead and delegate work assignments, knowledge of personnel procedures.
  • Read and write fluently in English.
  • Minimum Applicable driver's license.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • Mobility to travel in and around office facilities.
  • Communicate and exchange information with upper management.
  • Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities.
