Senior RPG Developer

Location: Tulsa, OK

Description:

Our client is looking for a Senior RPG Developer to join their Information Technology team. The successful candidate will perform solution development and delivery working both independently and as part of a team. This position will develop applications using RPG with DB2. This individual will work a hybrid schedule from their downtown Tulsa office.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Communicate, maintain, develop, and enforce coding standards with participation in code reviews.
  • Design and code superior technical solutions while recognizing system deficiencies, suggesting and implementing effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in RPG.
  • Provide high quality service and communication to clients/customers/co-workers while maintaining a professional standard.
  • Translate design requirements and specifications into robust high quality code implementations.
  • Perform code unit tests and demonstrate the ability to properly validate functionality of work produced.
  • Provide innovative insight into the design of code in a component or sub-component of the system.
  • Maintain an established level of productivity using time management techniques.
  • Able to shift between priorities as needed throughout the workday.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide system support outside of normal working hours.
Job Requirements:
  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.  Equivalent work experience will be considered. Prior development of financial and/or insurance related systems is preferred.
  • Generally, 5+ years of combined experience designing, developing, documenting, and supporting applications using RPG in an IBM iSeries systems environment.
  • Advanced level knowledge of RPG and CL.
  • Experience with Aldon Life Cycle Manager or similar change management software.
  • Working knowledge of structured query language and embedded SQL in RPG.
  • Experience with Profound Logic products is a plus.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, IBM Rational Developer for i, and/or IBM System i Navigator is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while adjusting to and implementing numerous policy and procedural change
