Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Scheduler with 10 to 25 years of progressive experience in planning and scheduling large-scale capital projects, specifically within the refining and petrochemical industries. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Primavera P6 and have a proven track record of supporting multi-million to billion-dollar EPC or owner-side projects through all phases—engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed Primavera P6 project schedules for all phases of large capital projects.
- Coordinate with project teams (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning) to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment.
- Integrate vendor and subcontractor schedules into the master project schedule.
- Perform critical path analysis, resource loading, and schedule risk analysis as required.
- Monitor project progress against baseline schedules, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Generate regular progress reports, look-aheads, and dashboard updates for stakeholders and management.
- Support schedule-related input for Change Management, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Forecasting.
- Work closely with cost engineers and project managers to ensure alignment between cost and schedule.
- Participate in project reviews, audits, and schedule assurance activities.
- Support claims analysis, forensic schedule analysis, and extension of time requests when needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10 – 25 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within large capital projects, preferably in the refinery or petrochemical sector.
- Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 (latest versions).
- Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycle and construction methodologies in an industrial or refining environment.
- Previous experience working for or with major EPC firms or Owner-Operators.
- Experience with integrated planning tools, reporting software, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, etc.).
- Familiarity with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), resource management, and project controls frameworks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- PMP, PSP, or AACE certification is an asset.
- Prior experience with Large Capital refinery projects is a plus.
- Familiarity with contract scheduling terms and delay/impact analysis.
