Sr. Process Engineer-Crudes

Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Description


 looking for a Senior Process Engineer (Crudes). The Senior Process Engineer is a key member of the site Process Engineering Department as well as a critical support member of Business Teams. The process engineering team is dedicated to being the technical leaders that drive the highest value solution for our partners. You will be joining a technical community of 30+ chemical engineers dedicated to the troubleshooting, optimization, and design improvement of the refinery units.

What You Will Do
  • Building and expanding technical network internally and externally to the company
  • Developing value creation ideas and projects economic analysis for assigned units and technologies 
  • Monitoring long-term unit performance against industry benchmarks
  • Supporting the building of a unit monitoring toolkit for Crude technology
  • Auditing unit performance reports and long-term calculations
  • Reviewing and supporting benchmark studies (Solomon, PTAI studies)
  • Ensuring the technical basis of projects meets business objectives
  • Mentoring and supporting Production Engineers during unit troubleshooting, unit monitoring, PHAs, critical procedures, monthly Business Review meetings
  • Supporting high-profile unit troubleshooting as needed
  • Directing and assisting Operations for the design of experiments and process guidelines
  • Owning the Process Engineer modeling programs
  • Building out the technology loop model using different
  • software such as HYSYS to drive economic decision- making in unit operations.
  • Supporting other Physics-based modeling programs
  • Providing turnaround program technical support and technical scoping as needed
  • Contributing to process safety and environmental performance through Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) programs, Management of Changes (MOC), investigations team member or leader

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of refining process engineering experience
  • Previous experience with crude, vacuum distillation, and light end units

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Ten (10) years of refinery experience
  • Five (5) + years of Process Engineering experience in crude units
  • Experience as a Process Engineer or Project Engineer leading projects in an oil refinery
  • Process modeling simulation with Aspen HYSYS/EDR and HTRI
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for un-escorted access to the facility within a specific time period.
