Description:
Position Summary
Coordinates company’s compliance with government laws and regulations. Works with company management to identify potential risks, implementing policies and procedures to uphold laws and regulations, and monitoring the company’s adherence to those policies and procedures. Fosters a safety and environmentally focused company culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal rules and regulations regarding the company’s operations
- Responsible for submitting critical documentation and requests to state and federal agencies to ensure regulatory compliance in support of oil and gas operations.
- Work with various teams and business units to resolve operation and production-related compliance issues, including inactive well compliance
- Develop business relationships with professionals at regulatory agencies to ensure knowledge of the rules and compliance
- Organize and maintain technical files related to permitting functions
- Stays abreast of regulatory issues and new or changing regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of PHMSA regulations centered around 49 CFR 190, 191, 192, 194, 195, 196, 199 and API Recommended Practices
- Ability to work flexible hours during times of increased work activity.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
- Acquire and maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Interface with contractors on company safety and environmental policies and expectations.
- Bachelor’s degree
- In lieu of degree, High School diploma with minimum of 6 years of oil and gas, regulatory and compliance related experience or demonstrated knowledge of the industry
- Minimum of 3 years regulatory and compliance experience
- Ability to accurately solve problems and exceptional proficiency in data management.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the use and application of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Basic Understanding of the Federal, State and Local OSHA & DOT rules and regulations
- Preferred experience with regulations in Texas and Louisiana.
- Valid Driver’s license required.
- Prolonged sitting, standing, walking
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to individually lift: Maximum 100 lbs.
- Some work may be performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
