Description
Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating extremely large complex projects to ensure that project goals and objectives are accomplished using best proactive methodologies within prescribed business requirements, time frames, and funding parameters. Performs technical tasks and/or leads teams in projects of extremely complex scope, importance, and/or complexity. Leads development and implementation of technical standards and specifications. Assumes responsibility for interpretation of business aspects and overall project success. Regularly called upon to make unreviewed decisions.
Job Description
As the IT Project Manager IV, the ability to resolve sophisticated problems, explain difficult issues and cultivate positive relationships are all important skills needed for this role. This role will also require extensive knowledge of the software development process and how to use business applications for a competitive advantage. We are looking for someone who can bring a new perspective on existing solutions to improve performance, efficiency, and safety!
Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Leads and coordinates a variety of sophisticated projects with significant impact to our organization
- Understands business requirements, project risks and project lifecycle
- Applies expertise and leadership skills to advise staff and to resolve issues
- Measures and reports project performance to our leadership team
- Cultivates relationship with our clients and company partners
- Collaborates with others on software development process, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, modern testing methodologies and deployment management
- Uses business applications for competitive advantage
- Applies knowledge of business challenges to improve products, processes or services
- Interprets internal/external customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies responses
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field or engineering; minimum seven (7) years’ experience in project management with a minimum three (3) years’ experience in information technology or minimum eleven (11) years’ related business experience
- Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrates strong organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
- Has developed conceptual and practical expertise in own field
- Strongly Preferred: Experience managing IT infrastructure projects and programs including core hosting, corporate and field network, cloud implementations, etc.
- Preferred: Experience in oil and gas industry, preferably leading projects that work with field/operations
- Preferred: Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously, both large and small in fast-paced environment
- Preferred: Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
- Preferred: Extensive knowledge of plan development and execution, scope planning, schedule development, cost estimating, budgeting, and control, communications planning, risk identification and risk response control
- Preferred: Data Bricks & Big Data Analytics experience
- Infrastructure Experience is a must have
