Mechanical Project Lead Engineer
Location: Cary, NC
Description:
The Mechanical Project Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for projects within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries. This role involves producing mechanical system concepts, performing calculations (including load and energy analysis), and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:

Serve as the mechanical discipline lead on projects, overseeing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

Meet with clients to represent the mechanical scope of work.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure a comprehensive and integrated design.

Assess project requirements and manage the mechanical design process from concept through completion.

Supervise mechanical designers and manage allocated design hours and budgets.

Collaborate with code officials and other professionals to interpret or request exceptions to design standards.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited institution.

Professional Engineering (PE) license.

Minimum of 15 years of mechanical engineering experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sectors.

Strong understanding of cGMP, ISO, and ISPE standards.

Proficient knowledge of HVAC systems and associated hydronic systems.

Familiarity with HVAC and pumping control strategies.
