GIS Professional

Location: Tulsa, OK

Description

This GIS Professional will work at the intersection of cartography, data analysis, and application configuration. A dynamic individual to support multiple ONEOK Commercial teams: Natural Gas Liquids, Natural Gas Gathering and Processing, Refined Products, Crude, and Natural Gas Pipeline product lines along with the Corporate Development and Capital Projects teams. As a successful candidate, you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-tier geospatial content/products, championing the incredible power of location information, and combining these two superpowers to expand the GIS knowledgebase for the ONEOK Commercial teams. You will be part of a highly effective team to build and support custom and off the shelf GIS applications and map products, delivering value to our company and customers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Configure online mapping applications and tools and manage a digital library of geographic products.?
  • Use industry knowledge to explain geographic trends and solutions to commercial stakeholders.?
  • Design digital maps, using both internal and external geographic data that are curated to your stakeholders’ specific needs.
  • Create high quality map deliverables for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uphold federal, state, and organization data governance standards?.
  • Provide technical support, solutions, and coordination for Commercial project requests.
  • Leverage ONEOK’s suite of Esri Enterprise applications to empower Capitol Projects and Commercial stakeholders to improve their experiences with GIS. ?
  • Develop and maintain map templates specific to each specific stakeholder or business unit.
  • Actively participate in team feedback and process improvement discussions
  • Identify, facilitate, and coordinate stakeholder training opportunities for GIS products and tools. 
  • Write and maintain SOPs for necessary products and processes.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in GIS or related field or a combination of formal education and the following job related experience
 
Work Experience
  • Experience with Esri GIS software (ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Portal for Enterprise) and tools.
  • Experience or foundational knowledge in:
    • Creating high quality cartographic products in ArcGIS Pro
    • Office equipment including computers and applicable software
    • Basic data formatting and maintenance using tools like MS Access, MS Excel, or similar platforms.
    • ArcGIS Enterprise Portal permissions and licenses.
    • Understanding coordinate systems and map projections.
  • Experience interacting, advising and communicating effectively with stakeholders, peers and all levels of management
  • Experience conducting presentations and trainings
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to: Capture project requirements and identify any shortcomings in resources  
  • Ability to: self-manage multiple projects at once, to include those with a same-day turnaround or urgent status.
  • Ability to: Identify the need for, and explain GIS solutions to stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of the technology’s value and use case
  • Knowledge of: Cartographic and geospatial product best practices
  • Ability to: apply math, algebra, and statistical methods
  • Knowledge of: industry specific use case of GIS products
  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange information and instructions; conduct oral presentations
