Drafter II

Location: Houston, TX

Description


As a Drafter 2, you will be responsible for completing drafting assignments with moderate supervision and providing technical support for more complex projects. You will work within established procedures while using your developed technical skills to solve typical problems in your work area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides drafting and technical support in at least one drafting discipline (civil/structural, piping/mechanical, or electrical/instrumentation)
  • Responsible for providing detailed drawings, plans, and diagrams with assistance from a more senior drafter or designer
  • Gathers information from identified sources
  • Monitors and reports on progress and quality of assigned tasks
  • Uses basic problem-solving techniques to address routine issues
  • Coordinates with other team members to ensure timely and quality deliverables
  • Works on simple drafting assignments with minimal supervision or more complex assignments with moderate supervision
  • Division of work is roughly 10% internal communication/coordination and 90% CADD work
  • Travel is generally less than 25%, but may vary depending on assignments

Experience Desired:
  • 2 to 5 years of drafting experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Competent knowledge of AutoCAD applications and drafting principles
  • Experience in at least one drafting discipline (civil/structural, piping/mechanical, or electrical/instrumentation)
  • Ability to work on simple drafting assignments with minimal oversight or more complex assignments with moderate supervision
  • May provide technical guidance to less experienced drafters
