Designer I

Location: Houston, TX

Description: 

As a Designer I, you will be responsible for performing basic drafting and technical support, primarily focused on creating detailed drawings and plans for various projects under supervision.

Experience Desired for Designer I:
  • 0 to 2 years of drafting experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience with AutoCAD is required
  • Proficient with basic drafting and technical support skills
  • Entry-level position, with limited decision-making authority

Job Duties and Responsibilities for Designer I:
  • Provides basic drafting and technical support requiring little latitude in judgment
  • Performs basic tasks and projects of lesser complexity under regular supervision
  • Gathers information from identified sources
  • Monitors and reports on progress and quality of assigned tasks
  • Uses basic problem-solving techniques to address routine issues
  • Creates detailed drawings, plans, and diagrams with assistance from senior drafters or designers
  • Coordinates with other team members to ensure timely and quality deliverables
  • Responsible for maintaining and organizing drafting files and related materials
  • Works within defined procedures to solve routine problems
  • Communicates progress and updates to the team and supervisor
  • Division of work is roughly 5% internal communication/coordination and 95% CADD work
  • Travel is generally less than 25% but varies depending on assignments
