Description:
The Senior Civil-Structural Engineer/Designer should have at least ten years of design engineering experience in an EPC setting. Responsibilities are varied and include preparing and providing estimates, scope of work documents, technical reviews, analysis and design — and input for Proposal/Geotechnical Investigation, Engineering, Bid, and Construction phases. Additionally, the role involves assisting project and engineering teams in developing and implementing site-specific civil-structural design methodology, estimates, and scope of works with project budget and schedule in mind. Emphasis is on Civil Design & Experience for Hydraulic and Hydrological design of industrial plants in the Gulf Coast and other regions across the US.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Collaborate with in-house Engineering Delivery team, other E&C Centers, and third-party contractors and firms.
- Verify inputs from internal and external design team members and vendors, highlighting inconsistencies, errors, and omissions.
- Interface with and expedite outside EPC/engineering entities to meet scope, budget, and schedule.
- Check EPC construction deliverables for design and engineering detail.
- Perform engineering and design for civil-structural aspects of industrial infrastructure and plant construction.
- Assist project and construction teams in resolving civil-structural issues during engineering and construction.
- Review vendor/fabricator shop drawings.
- Respond to RFIs and TQs as required.
- Support Engineering Delivery group on interdisciplinary technical requests (piping, E&I, etc).
- Contribute to design improvements (e.g., dynamic equipment, cooling towers, piling).
- Obtain PE and provide responsible charge duties for civil-structural scope.
- Understand structural design including foundations, structural steel, and connection designs.
- Understand civil activities including hydrological design and routing for greenfield and brownfield developments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with PE (required) or equivalent experience with ability to obtain PE by comity or reciprocity.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in an EPC setting.
- Willingness to travel ~25% to project locations and engineering offices.
- Ability to wear safety equipment as required.
- Current TX Professional Engineering License.
- Experience in Hydrological Design of Stormwater and Effluent Systems for Industrial Plants.
- Knowledge of local regulations for detention, retention, and sediment basins.
- Proficiency with Civil-3D, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, Atlas 13 & 14 (Texas).
- Experience in design of concrete structures, piles, steel structures, and anchorage.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SmartPlant Review, and Navisworks.
- Proficiency with structural design programs such as STAAD, Mat3D.
- Ability to use standard and national building codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
- Proficiency with Google Suite.
