Business Applications Analyst II

Location: Ignacio, CO

Description: 

This position is responsible for assisting with business applications analysis, support, and use of the company’s integrated oil and gas business software.  Interface with users of software to evaluate needs and develop business solutions utilizing IT technology. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Assists in the daily administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, data integrity and end-user connectivity as well as security and access rights verification, implementation and auditing for all company-wide integrated oil and gas business software.
  • Assists in working with internal customers to troubleshoot database issues utilizing advanced SQL queries and data extraction techniques.  Collaborates with teammates and customers to design and implement solutions to minimize database issues.
  • Responsible for analyzing recurring data inconsistencies utilizing advanced SQL queries and data extraction techniques and for developing procedures and method to minimize those inconsistencies and working with customers to implement methods to reduce recurring data inconsistencies.
  • Responsible for utilizing continuous process methods; assists in working with internal business clients to design, develop, test, and document new complex process changes which may include program changes, integrations, application enhancements, process improvements and/or organizational changes to support the business process and meet business objectives, goals and requirements.
  • Responsible for working collaboratively with management to design and develop meaningful, repeatable business analytics and metrics utilizing industry standard data extract techniques including the programming and development of custom dashboards, data analysis tools, data integration using SQL stored procedures, data warehouses and complex ETL (extract, translate, load) procedures.
  • Participates in a positive, supportive, and team oriented environment.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as requested or required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested or required.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business or relevant related field and one year of experience in business systems analysis, development or support; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related field and three years’ experience in business systems analysis, development or support is required.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in DBMS or systems development preferably in a client/server environment.
  • Must have knowledge of common Operating Systems.
  • Must have knowledge and experience utilizing Query and Reporting tools.
  • Must have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have strong computer database management and analysis skills.
  • Must have valid driver’s license for state of residency and be insurable under SUSS vehicle insurance policy.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal history background check.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with Enertia oil and gas software.
  • Experience with GIS/GPS systems


LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, orally and in a written format. 
  • Ability to prepare reports and present facts and information.
  • Ability to present concepts and ideas to staff and clients.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Lifting a minimum of 20 pounds may be required.
  • Work will require the use of computers with exposure to video display terminals, the need to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time and some repetitive motion associated with data entry and the use of a computer mouse.
  • Work requires the use of all fingers and hands to manipulate computer equipment.
  • Adequate hearing is required to hear/talk with all individuals, and to use telephones on a frequent basis.
  • Adequate vision is required to perform job duties, including working in any of Red Willow’s offices and in the server room.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is performed in an office setting with some exposure to environmental stress. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
  • Work may occasionally involve travel in the local area or out of town.
