Accounting/HR Manager

Location: Tulsa, OK

Description:

Work with the Management Team to ensure the continued success and growth of the company. Manage accounting staff and HR functions. Ensure the accuracy of accounting information and practices in the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with President and Management team to set strategic plans, goals, and company priorities. Maintain employee performance and payroll records. Ensure the company is compliant with applicable federal and state employment laws. Assist employees and managers with employee issues.
  • Evaluate employee benefit package to ensure benefits offered are within the expectations of the owners; manage renewals with broker and employee enrollment.
  • Ensure all accounting functions are performed in a timely and efficient manner. Monitor cash flow and ensure all commissions due are collected and timely.
  • Monitor month-end accounting closing activities and oversee agent commission calculations.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP (except where noted) and review with Management. Work with outside auditors to ensure the Annual Financial Statement audit is performed efficiently and in compliance with GAAP.
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Provide internal and external reporting to meet management and client needs.
  • Manage accounting staff and ensure team members are cross-trained on critical activities.
  • Proactively look for cost-saving and revenue generating opportunities.
  • Manage Company liability insurance renewals with insurance broker.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
  • Degree nice to have: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

EXPERIENCE:
  • Five to eight years previous accounting experience required
  • Travel agency experience preferred but not required
