Description
We are seeking a senior contract software engineer to build and support the Company Portal and related applications. The Portal is the primary work management platform for field work, planning, and master data workflows, serving field operations teams, planners and schedulers, and master data maintainers. You will own features and fixes from requirements through release, working closely with business partners and the development team.
Responsibilities
- Own features and fixes from requirement clarification through implementation, testing, release, and follow-up, across interfaces, services, data, and integrations.
- Build reliable, accessible applications that preserve business rules, enforce permissions and validation, and protect company data.
- Diagnose issues across application layers, identify root causes, and deliver focused fixes that improve performance and reliability.
- Work directly with product owners, analysts, QA, and engineers to clarify requirements, surface risks and trade-offs, and deliver useful increments with limited direction.
- Produce focused, reviewable pull requests with meaningful verification evidence.
- Understand and take responsibility for every change you ship, including agent-generated code.
- Maintain practical documentation and reusable agent instructions where they help the team deliver and support the application.
Required qualifications
- Proven experience delivering and supporting production full stack applications.
- Strong React and TypeScript skills, with C# and .NET backend experience.
- Experience with SQL, APIs, Azure, and automated delivery pipelines.
- Sound testing, debugging, and code review practices.
- Ability to work independently in an established codebase, communicate clearly, and take ownership of delivery.
Required AI-native development experience
Demonstrated AI-native development is required. Coding agents are an established part of how you investigate, plan, implement, test, and review production software. Your experience extends beyond autocomplete or isolated code generation.
The successful candidate can:
- Frame bounded tasks with relevant repository and business context, clear constraints, and testable acceptance criteria.
- Guide agents through changes across files and application layers while controlling scope and preserving existing behavior.
- Use repository instructions, reusable skills, and tool integrations effectively, adapting the workflow as new evidence emerges.
- Verify results through code inspection, meaningful tests, builds, and API or browser checks, including failure paths, permissions, and regression risks.
- Recognize incorrect assumptions, fabricated APIs, incomplete fixes, or unnecessary complexity; correct the agent’s approach and explain the reasoning.
This capability is required on entry; onboarding will focus on our applications and business context. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their workflow and discuss production work delivered with agents, including an output they rejected or corrected. Accountability for correctness, security, maintainability, and technical decisions remains with the developer.
Preferred experience
- Experience with enterprise integrations or applications supporting field operations.
