Description:
You will provide instrumentation and controls engineering services to the organization and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the instrumentation and controls engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instrumentation and controls engineering services that meet the organization's, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Initiate, manage and if required supervise instrumentation and controls engineering project requirements.
- Perform instrumentation and controls engineering services such as:
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
- Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
- Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations and write purchase orders.
- Completes additional responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Function as the instrumentation and controls engineering lead on specific projects.
- Outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress.
- Proactively resolve any discrepancies between the organization and its customer's requirements.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the instrumentation and controls engineering field.
- Assist and support junior personnel within the instrumentation and controls engineering team.
- Communicate effectively with the instrumentation and controls engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customers.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
- May serve as a technical consultant within area of expertise. Makes formal presentations to the customer or Company management.
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Extensive years of relevant discipline experience.
- Experience working in project leadership role.
- Experience in estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to the organization and its customers.
- A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the instrumentation and controls engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Competent use of instrumentation and controls engineering specific software.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Substantial technical and practical experience in instrumentation and controls engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- BS or MS in related field or applicable discipline, typically an engineering degree; or equivalent experience if allowed by law.
- Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States is preferred.
