Technical Data Analyst / Data Engineer

Location: Houston, TX or Midland, TX

Description


We are seeking a hands-on technical resource to support data, reporting, and automation initiatives within our Environmental function.  This role is focused on building scalable data pipelines, developing reporting solutions, and driving end-to-end automation across systems. The ideal candidate is execution-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support automation and data workflows for environmental reporting. 
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable database architectures and data pipelines
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, views, and data models
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards and data visualizations (Power BI, Spotfire, or similar)
  • Develop and implement data quality checks, validation, and reconciliation processes
  • Build automation solutions using Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Python, or similar tools
  • Integrate data across multiple systems and platforms
  • Document data processes, architectures, and standards for scalability and auditability
  • Provide hands-on technical execution support for priority automation and reporting projects

Required Qualifications
  • Strong database expertise (SQL required; cloud data platforms a plus)
  • Proven hands-on experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Spotfire, or similar)
  • Proven hands-on experience building automation (Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Python, or similar)
  • Experience designing and supporting data integration and ETL pipelines
  • Experience working with both structured and semi-structured/unstructured datasets
  • Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry. 
  • 5+ Years of experience in IT Industry specially on the development and support side.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Exposure to machine learning, predictive analytics, or advanced data modeling
