Job Description

Material Flow Technician

Location: Louisville, KY

Description:

The Material Flow Technician manages the stream of product cylinders into the workspace for filling and the organization of return and prepared cylinders in the cylinder storage area.

The technician will assist in Logistics efforts and Inventory (raw material and finished goods).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Promote a culture of “Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time” with their actions and their words on a daily basis.
  • Through observation of work area(s), is alert to and avoids unsafe behaviors and conditions or other hazards.
  • Report any observed hazards to the supervisor.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety policies including, but not limited to HAZWOPER, Electronic Communications Policy (ECP), and Critical Life Safety policies. Follow all work processes and work instructions relevant to specific assignments.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
  • Gas pad organization by customer, product type and preparation status.
  • Identify cylinders per order and bring those to H-space for fills.
  • Inventory control counts and replenish bins from stock including RM goods, cylinders, safety supplies, operational supplies, and logistics supplies.
  • Deliver product from production back to gas pad or warehouse.
  • Load/unload cylinders from the freezer.
  • Receive raw materials for logistics.
  • Load/unload trucks include block and brace.
  • Assist in loading dry ice into containment vessels for product shipment to the customer.
  • Cycle counts for the site.
  • Complete daily forklift inspection and maintain propane inventory.
  • Successfully complete all assigned training.
Minimum requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Fitness for duty; e.g. ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to climb ladders, roll cylinders
  • Valid drivers license
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to follow all work instructions and safety protocols
  • Ability to understand the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases
  • Must be a quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain focus.
  • Can adapt to change and a variety of challenges
  • Must be organized with attention to detail and ability to follow directions to meet deadlines
  • Able to work in outside work environment Medically cleared to drive a forklift
Work Environment:
  • Safety PPE. Nomex coveralls or uniform.
  • Safety Glasses Steel toe boots.
  • Personal Gas Monitor Leather, cut resistant, and nitrile gloves
Work Conditions:
  • Standing for multiple hours/day
  • Work mostly outside and fan cooled building (warehouse)
  • In/Out of delivery trucks for deliveries and shipments.
  • Break areas available in air conditioned space
