Emergency Response Technician
Location: Alpine, AK
Description:
The scope of work is to include fire hose testing including large diameter hose; cleaning of respirators used in emergency response training as well as that used in support of field operations. Maintenance of small tools and equipment utilized on fire apparatus other non-technical physical labor associated with training in emergency response.
Key Accountabilities
- Provides field support of respiratory equipment to include air compressors, air sampling, required testing and maintenance and repair of field emergency response equipment.
- This position may also be a member of the Fire, Medical, Rescue, and Spill Response teams.
- Provide spill response and environmental management support to the assigned area.
- Perform safety audits, identify and record hazard analyses of specific jobs.
- Performs site inspections around the assigned facility to ensure areas are free from all environmental and safety risks.
Minimum and Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Entry level, typically 0-3 years of experience.
- Provides technical and/or administrative support.
- Demonstrates the ability to learn terminology, applications and standard procedures for performing the job function.
- Perform routine, basic office/field tasks using established procedures.
- Ability to communicate verbally in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Firefighter 1 certification
- EMT certification
- Alaska North Slope experience
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license.
