Description
The Division Order Supervisor leads a team of six analysts and manages the creation and maintenance of ownership decks for new wells and acquisitions. This includes interpreting legal documents such as leases and deeds, calculating divisions of interest, and ensuring accurate ownership setup and payment information in land systems. The role requires strong leadership, project management, and analytical skills to ensure timely and accurate deck setup.
Responsibilities
- Team and project leadership: Manage a team of division order analysts, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to organizational goals. Spearhead the creation of new ownership decks, a critical component of new well and acquisition projects.
- Title and ownership management: Support upcoming new wells by ensuring timely receipt and review of required title opinions. Oversee the review and analysis of ownership deck creations, providing guidance and support to the team. Interpret legal documents, including leases, deeds, assignments, and existing contracts, to determine ownership interests. Establish and maintain accurate joint interest billing (JIB) and revenue decks based on title findings.
- Data accuracy and maintenance: Safeguard company interest integrity by coordinating with the Maintenance and Owner Relations Supervisor to process ownership changes promptly. Support updates to ownership records in response to acquisitions, divestitures, and other changes.
- Interdepartmental coordination: Collaborate closely with Land, Revenue Accounting, and Joint Interest Billing to ensure correct ownership setup, payment, and communication across business units.
- Land System Maintenance: Provide support as needed for ongoing maintenance, testing, data integrity initiatives, and system upgrades. Develop training materials and deliver training sessions to staff and stakeholders to ensure successful adoption of upgrades.
- Process improvement: Develop and improve processes for timely creations and maintenance of division order decks, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external requirements.
- Technical proficiency: Utilize advanced skills in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, and proficient in Quorum Upstream application, both classic and web. The subject matter expert for the land system software.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as senior division order analyst higher.
- 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Energy Management, Accounting, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Working knowledge of cross unit development programs
- Proficiency in Quorum Upstream functions, classic and web versions.
- Knowledge and understanding of land systems and oil and gas accounting principles
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of Oil and Gas Agreements for Texas and Louisiana assets
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS
