Description
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for civil transportation/roadway design (including grading, stormwater management, utilities, pavements, roads, and bridges) and other civil engineering projects. You will maintain professional registration and sign/seal documents prepared under your supervision.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging in multiple project assignments and prioritize competing project demands
- Leading project strategy meetings within the discipline, develops design concepts and recommends systems, produces pricing and proposal presentation documents, and outlines specifications
- Identifying the basis of design for roadway, signing, striping, traffic control, constructability, hydrology, hydraulics, utilities, and erosion sediment control design approach
- Directing technical efforts of project engineers, designers, technicians, and/or interns assigned to the project
- Sign and seal design documents when assigned as Professional of Record
- Advising and assisting owners and contractors in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents and response to requests for information
To thrive in this role you will need:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 10+ years of transportation design
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Working knowledge of Microstation, OpenRoads, and/or InRoads
- Administer an environment for staff to excel, while coaching them to advance their careers
Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information.
- The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
