Description
Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating extremely large complex SCADA upgrade and replacement projects to ensure that project goals and objectives are accomplished using best proactive methodologies within prescribed business requirements, time frames, and funding parameters. Performs technical tasks and/or leads teams in projects of complex scope, importance and/or interdependency. Leads development and implementation of technical standards and specifications related to SCADA systems, display standards, data hierarchy, interfaces, and performance. Assumes responsibility for interpretation of business aspects and overall project success. Regularly called upon to drive decisions, collaborate with other functions, and align milestones. Serves as advisor and mentor to team members regarding risks, tasks, resources, and best practices for SCADA Project Implementation.
As the IT Project Manager IV, the ability to lead teams to resolve sophisticated problems, explain difficult issues and cultivate positive relationships are all important skills needed for this role. This role will also require extensive knowledge of the SCADA architecture, software configuration, and SCADA project lifecycle process. Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Leads and coordinates a SCADA related projects to achieve G&P Modernization objectives
- Understands business requirements, project risks and project lifecycle
- Applies expertise and leadership skills to advise and consult with project team, stakeholders, and sponsors and to resolve issues?
- Measures and reports project performance to our leadership team and stakeholders
- Cultivates relationships with our system integrators and software vendors; mentors others
- Collaborate with project team on SCADA project development processes, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, modern testing methodologies and deployment management to Pipeline Control
- Uses business applications for project management processes and to comply with PMO requirements
- Applies knowledge of SCADA project implementation challenges to improve project plans, delivered processes or and services for Pipeline Control
- Interprets internal/external customer stakeholder needs, assesses requirements and identifies responses
- Other duties as assigned
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field or engineering; minimum seven (7) years’ experience in project management with a minimum three (3) years’ experience in information technology or minimum eleven (11) years’ related business experience
- Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Demonstrates strong organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
- Has developed conceptual and practical expertise in own field
- Develops and implements project plans for IT SCADA system compatibility and integration, ensuring seamless migration between existing and new SCADA system and data/system integration
- Leads fast-paced projects, managing complex financials, equipment procurement, and implementation activities to ensure successful project execution
- Preferred: Experience leading IT and OT system integrations
- Skilled in managing ambiguity, strategic thinking, and instilling trust across project teams on confidential projects
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ability to navigate cross-functional organizations and develop deep institutional knowledge of organizational roles/ownership areas and leverage key relationship
- Conducts SCADA systems, work processes, architecture and infrastructure including hardware, software, network integration (MQTT, OPC-UA, and OPC-DA)s, and data centers and cloud solutions.
- Collaborates with 3rd party solution integrator and IT stakeholders to ensure alignment regarding key decisions, requirements, design decisions, technical standards, compliance, and execution plans.
- Develops and implements integrated project plans including integration with parallel initiatives like the Display and Alarm Standards.
- Develop and implements integrated projects plans including integration with parallel initiatives like the display and alarm standard guide, data historian, non-pipeline control meters, OT Data Pipeline and Enterprise Asset Data Program.
- Delivers project budget, resource plans, schedules, roadmaps, periodic updates, and forecasts using PMO processes.
- Actively engages in system design and execution phases of the project, leveraging personal technical skills for troubleshooting and delivery planning.
- Provides mentorship and support to the project team to ensure integration of lessons learned, risk management, transition planning, and sound technical decisions.
- Basic understanding of oil and gas SCADA terminology.
- Extensive knowledge of project management practices including plan development and execution, scope planning, schedule development, cost estimating, budgeting, and control, communications planning, risk identification and risk response control
- Preferred: Experience managing SCADA projects
- Preferred: Experience with Schneider Electric Geo SCADA solutions
- Preferred: Experience in oil and gas industry leading high complexity SCADA Projects,
- Preferred: Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously, both large and small in fast-paced environment
- Preferred: Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
