Job Description

Willow Reliability Engineer

Location: Anchorage, Alaska


Description:
The Reliability Engineer will be a key member of the Willow Engineering Team, reporting to the Engineering & Systems Integration Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring that operability and maintenance requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle, and that all designs align with project specifications, internal standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support installation, commissioning, and handover of major rotating equipment, acting as system or subsystem lead for assigned packages (e.g., turbines, pumps).
  • Lead development of preventive maintenance (PM) strategies and criticality assessments for mechanical systems.
  • Provide ongoing support to Operations and Maintenance teams post-handover, including troubleshooting, optimization, spares analysis, and vendor coordination.
  • Serve as the Anchorage-based Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the project.
  • Contribute to future development planning and permitting efforts.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams and technical authorities to resolve design and operational issues.
  • Participate in procurement processes, including technical evaluations and vendor quote assessments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with rotating equipment in the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and safe work practices.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including potential rotational assignments to the North Slope.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with arctic engineering and rotating equipment in cold climates.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, completions, and handover processes.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional project environments.
  • Strong ownership mindset with follow-through on commitments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement.
