Job Description

Technical Writer Associate - Hybrid Position

Location:  Oklahoma City, OK

Description:

  • Provides support by creating, editing, and maintaining all related procedural documentation including but not limited to business unit policies and procedures, how to user guides, and technical reference manuals.

  • Interprets necessary data, drawings and specifications through research and is a liaison within the technical staff.



Level of Responsibility:

  • Entry level professional.



Primary Duties:

  • Create, edit and maintain all related procedural documentation including but not limited to policies and procedures, how to user guides, and technical reference manuals.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of technical documentation.

  • With assistance, plans layout of work, arranging sequence of material and placement of graphics as applicable.

  • Maintain a log of items to be drafted, approved, and published.

  • Develop hard copy and electronic forms.



Working Conditions:

  • Office work using computers

  • Occasional out-of-state travel to attend Training Courses/User Group meetings, etc.

  • Ability to work outside of normal workday/workweek to meet deadlines

  • Valid Drivers License.



Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Understanding of how to write, edit, and/or revise a range of technical documentation from a variety of sources

  • Ability to communicate with and understand the requirements of professional staff in various departments

  • Understanding of how to develop the design and layout of materials to be published Understanding of policy and procedure writing skills

  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications

  • Proofreading and editing skills Strong command of the English language

  • Ability to work independently and under supervision

  • Ability to interact and communicate with staff in a team environment



Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
