Job Description

Sr. Network Engineer

Location: Tulsa, OK or Remote

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work and collaborate with business units, information security, and IT/OT infrastructure groups to gather requirements for network solution designs.

  • Create new designs and/or provide input/recommendations for new network solutions.

  • Deploy/implement new network solutions for LAN/WAN, firewall, load balancing, and wireless core technologies.

  • Develop documentation for architecture, as-built designs, network standards and processes.

  • Assist with the evaluation of new technologies and the selection of technology vendors.

 
Required Collaboration Skills

  • Ability to periodically work with cross-functional teams, providing the appropriate network design recommendations and implementing the network portion of determined solution.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with key stakeholders on changes that may be impactful to business operations.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and leadership on ongoing projects and advise on strategic decisions related to network technologies and processes.


Required Technical Skills

  • Expert level understanding of switching technologies:

  • VLANs, spanning tree, port-channels, LLDP, etc. 

  • Expert level understanding of routing technologies:

  • EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, DMVPN, etc.

  • Proficient level understanding of TCP/UDP protocols; basic understand of HTTP.

  • Proficient level understanding of firewalls and how to configure them.

  • Basic level understanding of wireless LAN and load balancing technologies.

  • Understanding of technologies such as VXLAN, QoS, & Multicast a plus.

  • Understanding of network programming technologies (Python, REST, GitHub, JSON, etc.) a plus.


Preferred Vendor Experience

  • Cisco routers, switches, and firepower devices

  • Arista switches

  • Palo Alto firewalls

  • Citrix ADC load balancers

  • Aruba wireless controllers and WAPs

 
Preferred Certifications/Training

  • Cisco CCDP, CCNP or higher

  • Palo Alto – PCNSA a plus

  • B.S. degree a plus


Location and Travel

  • Candidate living or willing to live in Tulsa is preferred, however, position is also open to remote workers. 

  • Minimal travel involved except for periodic trips to datacenters and/or remote sites.
