Sr. Electrical Engineer
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Description
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer building and construction industry. Our Sr. Electrical Engineer is expected to execute a project from beginning to end and lead a team of electrical engineers and designers in all aspects of a project. The candidate must have a P.E. license in Electrical Engineering to be considered.
Required Responsibilities/ Duties:
Conceptual Design:
Understand and determine customer needs and define the services needed to provide an effective project
Develop budgets and proposals
Develop project concept plans and associated detailed documents
Responsible for leading and providing engineering design in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards for all phases of the electrical engineering work
Electrical Design:
Facility-related design of AC power distribution, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, generators for back-up power, UPS systems for uninterruptible power, surge protection
Complete knowledge of the design of power distribution, medium voltage, and below
Fully coordinates the connections of power utilization component connections
Grounding design, proper application
Lightning protection design, system types
Lighting calculations such as spacing to mounting height ratio, point to point, impact of horizontal and vertical foot-candles, lighting for emergency egress, selection of color-temperature, and design for daylighting and associated controls. Use of lighting software
Life safety requirements (egress and exit marking)
Application of process electrical and various types of control systems
General:
Working knowledge of the NFPA 70 National Electrical Code
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
Prepare scope of work, specifications, construction documents, and other necessary project-required deliverables
Experience with REVIT Preferred
Project Leadership:
Provide engineering managers with reports on project progress with respect to work completed and work still required, actual time requirements, versus estimates, and technical matters related to assigned projects.
Represent electrical team in both internal and external (Clients/Vendors) design reviews throughout the project.
Track cost and scheduling of engineering services.
Direct and coordinate all work related to assigned projects.
Lead Electrical personnel assigned to the project.
Maintain project communications through regular review meetings and day-to-day contact.
Assure that all contractual requirements are satisfied.
Drive coordination of electrical design discipline with other engineering disciplines.
Role requires a self-starter who can work well within groups and individually to further improve and contribute to the growth and effectiveness of the Department.
Group Leadership:
Mentor other Electrical and Controls team members on learned technical job skills.
Maintain positive client relationships and develop potential work opportunities.
Preferred Experience
Experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC’s) preferred but not required.
Experience with low voltage design (fire alarm, telecommunications, audio-visual, security) preferred but not required.
Education and Experience
ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
P.E. license in Electrical Engineering required
Minimum of 10 years discipline experience
Licensed Professional Engineer. NCEES Record Number holder preferred
