Senior Application Analyst and Developer (RPG) - Remote Position
Location: Tulsa, OK or Remote
Description
The successful candidate will perform solution development and delivery. This position will work in developing applications using RPG with DB2.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Communicate, maintain, develop and enforce coding standards.
Design and code superior technical solutions while recognizing system deficiencies, suggesting and implementing effective solutions.
Provide code reviews.
Demonstrate expert knowledge in RPG.
Provide high quality service to clients/customers/co-workers while maintaining a professional standard.
Translate design requirements and specifications into robust high-quality code implementations.
Perform code unit tests and demonstrate the ability to properly validate the functionality of work produced.
Provide innovative insight into the design of code in a component or sub-component of the system.
Work closely with other departments within IT to ensure high-quality code and practices.
Ensure all communication coming from Software Development is complete and professional.
Work independently with limited supervision as well as within a team environment.
Maintain an established level of productivity using time management techniques.
Able to shift between priorities as needed throughout the workday.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide system support outside of normal working hours.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Prior development of financial and/or insurance related systems is preferred.
Candidate must have the following (some are must and others are plus):
5+ years of combined experience designing, developing, and supporting applications using RPG in an IBM iSeries systems environment.
Advanced level knowledge of RPG and CL.
Experience with Aldon Life Cycle Manager or similar change management software.
Working knowledge of structured query language and embedded SQL in RPG.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while adjusting to and implementing numerous policy and procedural changes.
Experience working with other programming languages or development environments.
Ability to write clear, concise, and logical technical documentation.
Experience using ServiceNow is a plus.
Experience working with IBM Rational Developer for i is a plus.
Experience using IBM System i Navigator is a plus.
Experience with Profound Logic is a plus.
