Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, particularly in the procurement of pipe, valves, flanges, and instrumentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and QuickBooks is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement process for pipe, valves, flanges, and instruments from requisition to delivery.
- Identify reliable suppliers and maintain strong relationships with them.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchases.
- Create and process purchase orders accurately and timely.
- Monitor and track order status to ensure timely delivery.
- Resolve supplier issues and discrepancies to maintain smooth operations.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and specifications.
- Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to optimize supplier base.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and lead times.
- Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions affecting purchasing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist or similar role, preferably in the procurement of pipe, valves, flanges, and instruments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and QuickBooks.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in procurement processes.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
