Location: Tulsa, OK

Description

Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts and establishing and implementing project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. This position is also responsible for tracking key project milestones and assisting Program Manager(s) in partnering with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. This position manages multiple large, complex projects with greater impact to the enterprise.

In this exciting and collaborative role, you will lead and manage many large, impactful and complex projects in the business or technology roadmap from start to finish to deliver high value solutions for the enterprise. You will build strong relationships with IT and business partners to understand their needs and lead a team to deliver innovative technology solutions.

What You Can Expect: 
You will review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and the necessary resources for each phase of the project.  Establishing a work plan and staffing is critical to your success. You will arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel and formulate and define the technical scope and objectives in conjunction with project staff to outline the work plan. 
You will identify and manage project dependencies and critical path items for simple project plans having multiple inter-dependencies such as departments, vendors and processes. You will negotiate with the project sponsor (senior management LOB) to ensure desired timelines and budget expectations are met. You’ll be the liaison to both internal technology staff and vendors to ensure they understand the business requirements.
 
How You’ll Spend Your Time: 

  • You will work with IT partners and leaders across the bank. 

  • You will manage the weekly/monthly reporting process and helps prepare information deliverables for the Project Management Office regarding progress toward project milestones. 

  • You will create, accept and assesses status reports, change requests, schedule modifications or plans as required including quality assurance test plans and quality assurance testing, and requirements documentation to ensure project progression.

  • You will manage/participate in ongoing integration efforts


PROJECT MANAGEMENT: You effectively prioritize tasks. Experience in project/change management is essential.

Essential Duties:

  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, technical scope and objectives of project; procedures for accomplishing project; establishes a work plan and staffing for each phase of project; formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of project; confers with project staff to outline work plan.  Plans and administers project budgets for personnel and project expenses.

  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path items pertaining to complex project plans having multiple inter-dependencies and processes; negotiates with project sponsor (senior management LOB) to ensure that desired timelines and budget expectations are met; serves as liaison to both internal technology staff and vendors to ensure business requirements are fully understood.

  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel; modifies schedules or plans as required including quality assurance test plans and quality assurance testing.  

  • Manages weekly/monthly reporting process; helps prepare information deliverables for O&T Project Manager Officer (PMO) regarding progress toward project milestones; accepts and assesses status reports, change requests, and requirements documentation to ensure project progression

  • Manages/participates in ongoing integration efforts e.g., testing, dress rehearsals and conversion activities, etc.

  • Leads the effort in creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs.  

  • Provides leadership for project team throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Works closely with the end users, business technologists, and others to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs; manages the process of developing system requirements and design specifications; directs efforts to refine conceptual systems design requirements into the technical design.

  • May perform other duties as assigned. 


Education & Experience Requirements: 

  • This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field of study with an IT focus and 7-10 years of directly related experience in Information Technology project management or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Prior experience in financial services industry is preferred.  

  • Preference: PMP (Project Management Professional).


Skills:  

  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques

  • In-depth knowledge of plan development and execution, scope planning, schedule development, cost estimating, budgeting, and control, quality planning assurance, organizational planning, communications planning, risk identification and risk response control

  • Extensive knowledge of the software development process, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management 

  • Thorough knowledge of utilizing business applications for competitive advantage 

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business needs

  • Thorough knowledge of analysis, design, and implementation experience with technologies 

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Technical proficiency in hardware and systems software

  • Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations
