Payroll Assistant 3 (Garnishments)
Location: Irving, TX
Role & Responsibilities:
Strong Garnishments background
Load and validate Garnishments
Perform research on demand
Strong customer service
Sector POC support
Resolve garnishments audit findings each payroll processing
Respond to inquiries from employees and vendors regarding child support, garnishments, and levies.
Assist with creating scenario based audit reports
Assist as needed to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of garnishment accounts
Garnishment research and testing with payroll systems support to determine proper withholding from employees’ wages according to federal and state rules.
Collects and maintains electronic files for all garnishment withholding orders
Respond to inquiries from employees and vendors regarding garnishments and levies.
Special projects as assigned
High school diploma & 4 years of related education, i.e. business or accounting and/or relevant work experience
Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite (excel, word, and PowerPoint) (Basic, intermediate, advanced)
Payroll processing experience including relevant regulatory requirements; internal policy and procedure; accounting practices; system software requirements
Strong knowledge of different types of garnishments law
Knowledge of FLSA, federal and state laws, etc.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
Must possess a strong characteristic for attention to detail and accuracy
Problem-solving; organizing and prioritizing work demands in order to meet critical deadlines
Perform basic payroll calculations
Operating a personal computer including standard software and some specialized accounting software
Three years or more of experience involving relevant extensive payroll duties
Must be able to work well in a team environment
Prior experience working in a shared service or center of excellence environment
