NDT QA Inspector II

Location:  Tulsa, OK

Description


This position utilizes the inspector’s skill and knowledge to discover deviations in aerospace parts. Lead and assist Level I Process Inspectors in the performance of their duties. 

Level II qualifications.
  • Determine and utilize appropriate inspection methods and instruments to complete in-process and final inspection of special processes on parts.
  • Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and perform NDT inspections and all other processing inspections in accordance with the applicable customer/industry specifications and internal procedures.
  • Initiate non-conformance records against parts not meeting requirements.
  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
  • Work with applicable processing personnel to determine necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results.
  • Improve inspection effectiveness and efficiency by identifying and supporting implementation of process improvements.
  • Perform all necessary testing requirements to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Perform any other incidental duties as may be required.

Education:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Associate's Degree (two-year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: NDT
Experience:
  • 1 to 2 plus years of experience in penetrant inspection
Certifications & Licenses:
  • Level II Certificate for PT (Liquid Penetrant) required
 Physical Demands
  • Constantly standing, manually manipulating, grasping and reaching outward; frequently walking, and reaching above shoulder, occasionally sitting, speaking and squatting or kneeling and bending.
  • Lifting 10 lbs or less constantly, frequently, 11-20 lbs and occasionally 21 to over 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling 12 lbs or less constantly, frequently 13-25 lbs and occasionally 41-100 lbs.
  • Other physical requirements are vision, sense of touch and the ability to wear safety glasses as may be required.
