IT Project Controller

Location: Tulsa, OK

Job Description:
The project controller is a key member of the project team and works directly with the project manager to help define the project's goals and objectives; create and maintain a project's budget and schedule, analyze progress reported against the work schedules; and recommend actions to improve progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of the project

  • Responsible for assisting in creating and tracking project budget.

  • Responsible for updating Finance Systems for forecasting and budgeting.

  • Responsible for updating Project Management Systems for status.

  • Generates project reports.

  • Demonstrates the ability to meet assigned work deadlines and priorities.

  • Demonstrates the ability to assist in building and to follow detailed project plans.

  • Demonstrates the ability to facilitate meetings.

  • Demonstrates ability to resolve project scheduling issues.

  • Manage Purchase Orders and Invoices at a detail level.

  • Tracks all known risks.

  • Works cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Management or related field or comparable work experience.

  • 2-4 years’ experience in project related work

  • Strong communication skills

  • Analytical skills/attention to detail required to ensure quality and accuracy of cost and schedule data/documentation

  • Working knowledge of accounting practices

  • Working knowledge in project management methodologies and tools.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Working knowledge of plan development and execution, scope planning, schedule development, cost estimating, budgeting, and control, quality planning assurance, organizational planning, communications planning, risk identification and risk response control.

  • Working knowledge of the IT development process, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience; solid understanding of the energy industry
