GIS Technician

Location: Austin, TX

Description

• Utilize GIS software to update and maintain gas system and land base spatial data based on information received from internal field operations and external sources. 

• Provides entry level GIS-based mapping services to Operations Division to support activities companywide, utilizing GIS software to update and maintain gas system.

• Analyze and interpret source documentation for completeness, accuracy, and usability. 

• Communicate with business operations to resolve source documentation problems. 

• May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

   
Position Requirements  
Knowledge and/or training related but not limited to: 

• Applicable GIS software Basic geospatial concepts including: 

• Data formats

• Coordinate systems and map projections

• Table and spatial queries

• Attribute mapping
