GGRE Workflow Analyst

Location: Midland, TX

Description
GGRE Workflow Analyst position is responsible for the support of Geology, Geophysics, and Reservoir Engineering application workflow solutions and best practices. This role is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of workflow solutions and working directly with users to resolve their workflows & data issues. Job duties include working with the Services team to ensure constant standards and implementation of the software including Petrel, Studio and their ecosystem products. The job also includes ensuring the quality of the application and accuracy of data and assisting in the defining and implementing of best practices. This role will focus on NxtGen G&G end user support. 

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Support application and data workflows related to Geology, Geophysics, and Reservoir Engineering discipline

  • Identify areas where data can enhance current procedures to improve efficiencies 

  • Configure and manage applications for efficient use by supported users

  • Work with business analysts and business areas to support their application

  • Supporting, promoting, and documenting all application management processes and procedures

  • Assist in the prioritization of project work and enhancements

  • Provide support and consult on projects

  • Includes prioritizing tasks, communicating progress, and ensuring requirements are met

  • Responsible for some development/customization of solutions* Ensure availability of applications

  • Partnering with other groups as needed (ex: Business Analysts) to test new tools/applications

  • Data QC and Validation in the applications

  • Communicating issues/downtime regarding applications to Business Analysts and customers

  • Partnering with vendors for escalated support

  • Utilizing technical expertise to provide end-to-end experience for clients

Basic/Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years equivalent work experience working with GGRE applications 

Preferred:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with the following other support groups: Customers, Business Analysts, Data Analysts and technical assistants (Geotechs) within business units

  • Minimum two years direct experience working with or supporting applications

  • Strong understanding of information systems and data

  • Strong understanding of data conversion and translations

  • Strong understanding of UNIX and Windows Environment

  • Strong understanding of application deployment in UNIX and Windows Environment

  • Knowledge of GGRE Workflows and Processes

  • Proficiency in Petrel & Studio workflows

  • Problem solving skills with the ability to solve application and relevant data related problems for the customers

  • Works well under times of intense pressure and adheres to tight deadlines

  • Must be able to prioritize requests and multi-task

  • Ability to learn new applications and techniques quickly
