Dispatcher
Location: Austin, TX
Description
Perform intermediate level of work related to dispatching.
Communicate through multiple media channels including: phone, email, and electronic messaging to communicate with our customers.
Prioritize, dispatch, evaluate, and analyze field operations workload and workforce; manage work schedule to ensure appropriate resources are available.
Use multiple technology platforms including: Customer Information System (Banner), Dispatch Software (PragmaCAD), SharePoint, Maximo, Everbridge, Teams, and other applicable systems to complete daily tasks.
Assist customers and employees in person and by telephone regarding account information and service order requests including: Account inquiries, City Inspections, Emergency line locates, Service requests, Emergency situations, Reschedule uncompleted orders, Answer customer direct line inquiries for CNG, Answer field management inquiries
Process and prepare reports and records including: Emergency reports, Incident reports, Time sheets
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee will be asked to perform additional tasks as assigned.
What You Will Need
Knowledge of scheduling principles and practices.
Exchange information or instructions.
Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software.
Knowledge of the application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Application of decimals and percentages.
Knowledge of customer accounting and information center policies and procedures.
Experience related to: Dispatching policies and procedures, Operating communication devices, Emergency notification procedures, Electronic work management tools
Experience reading and interpreting maps and customer account information.
Read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license
Stationary for extended periods.
Mobility to travel in and around office facilities.
React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
Operate tools and equipment.
Communicate and exchange verbal and written information and instructions.
Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities.
