Disaster Recovery Analyst

Location: Tulsa, OK - Remote

Job Profile Summary

The IT Project Manager (PM) will act in the capacity of Disaster Recovery (DR) coordinator and Problem Manager.

As DR Coordinator, the IT PM will assist the DR Program Manager in coordinating efforts of team members, vendors and consultants to execute disaster recovery testing and validation of core infrastructure services and applications on a periodic basis.  Issues identified during DR testing will be documented and addressed with the appropriate technical resources prior to the next DR test.  DR coordination is expected to be approximately 25% - 50% of the IT PM’s daily duties.

As a Problem Manager, the IT PM will assist the Program Manager in identifying the appropriate technical resources necessary for coordinating and conducting root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents that result in significant impact to our IT services.  RCA will include identification of why a certain problem occurred, ensuring the problem has been resolved and determining possible solutions for preventing the problem from occurring again.  Problem management is expected to be approximately 50% - 75% of the IT PM’s daily duties.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying appropriate resources needed and assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project

  • Collaborate with project teams to define scope, develop project schedules and gather detailed requirements

  • Collaborate with project sponsors to define project critical success factors and measures

  • Establish project team roles and responsibilities; monitor progress and hold project team accountable for delivery of tasks

  • Develop the project communication plan; communicate regularly with project teams and stakeholders

  • Lead or assist in leading project teams throughout the duration of the projects, including facilitating meetings, adhering to project management methodology, establishing clear tasks and ensuring the project meets or exceeds defined success criteria

  • Assign and monitor work of technical personnel, ensuring that project tasks are in alignment with business objectives, on-time and within budget

  • Throughout duration of project, monitor reliability and any internal issues that appear as a result of the project

  • Report project status to customers, project team members and leadership on a weekly basis or on other frequency defined by leadership

  • Document and follow-up on meeting minutes, issues and action items.

  • Track and manage the issues log, ensuring weekly updates on all issues

  • Identify and monitor risks, issues and dependencies.

  • Escalate to the appropriate stakeholders with clarity, timeliness and professionalism

  • Respond to escalations, issues and concerns raised by stakeholders in a timely manner

  • Modify project plans, adapt behavior and/or project management methodology in response to new information

  • Promote continuous improvement by facilitating the collection and dissemination of project lessons learned.

  • Exhibit a positive attitude throughout and upon successful completion of projects; build relationships with IT team members and business partners

  • Assist senior-level project managers with project activities when necessary

  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Understand and adhere to the Project Life Cycle process as defined by the company

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience plus the following job related experience:

Experience 

  • Experience with ITIL, COBIT or other IT control frameworks

  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including accessing computers and applicable software

  • Experience preparing internal and external correspondence, status reports, business cases, technical configurations, and system standards and procedures

  • Experience developing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations
