Data Engineer

Location: The Woodlands, TX

Position Summary
 The Data Engineer is a core member of the team responsible for providing solutions to digital age data challenges through design and implementation of an ecosystem for better and faster insight to data. This role will be responsible for developing data engineering pipelines along with creating robust data models for data publishing. The position will work closely with various business groups, subject-matter-experts (SMEs), and software engineers to develop and deploy innovative solutions to address business needs. The Data Engineer will also be responsible for developing cloud-native solutions with low time to market by leveraging DevOps methodologies.

Essential Duties to include but not limited to: 

  • Designs and performs data extraction, assessment, translation, transformation, and load (ETL) processes

  • Hands on experience in ETL Informatica and Microsoft SQL server database with both SQL and PL/SQL skills.

  • In charge of building data equity, it's underlying code, tools, databases, and related infrastructure

  • Develops and maintains scalable data engineering pipelines to their full extent of engineering needs

  • Data systems architecture experience, crafting larger scale data engineering solutions, break down to smaller goals, prioritization

  • Experience with relational data engineering eco systems (preferably sophisticated disbursed data)

  • Analytics understanding is a must (preferably Power BI), past experience a plus

  • Proven track record to work independently

  • Experience with Agile methodologies/Dev Ops environment.

  • Responsible for configuring database and data platform connections, design semantic layer for reports and self-service BI.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to both technical and non-technical audience

  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-group environment

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 10+ yrs. of total experience 

  • Strong expertise as listed in the essential duties 

  • Strong communication and analytical skills 

  • Individual contributor and a self-starter needing minimal supervision 

  • Oil & Gas experience with basic understanding of WellView preferred but not required 

  • Hands-on experience with Python strongly preferred
