The weather this weekend is looking, well, I’m just going to say it — it’s looking hot. Friday is sunny with a high of 97, Saturday is partly cloudy with a high of 96 and Sunday is also partly sunny with a high of 94. Make sure to find some shade, rather up the sunscreen, or explore the great indoors.

Starting with this Friday, get your Independence Day festivities started early with the Bixby Freedom Celebration at the Bentley Sports Complex. Round up the kids for a variety of patriotic festivities and of course, fireworks! Food vendors will be out as well as a kid’s zone. Admission is free and you can learn all about it at www.bixbyfreedomcelebration.com

On Saturday, channel your World Cup excitement into cheering on your own Tulsa Roughnecks soccer team as they take the field against the Las Vegas Lights at ONEOK Stadium at 7:30 pm. Learn all about it at https://www.roughnecksfc.com

Before the Roughnecks’ game at ONEOK, this is calling all disc golfers: How would you like to place 10 holes at ONEOK Stadium? Saturday afternoon, enjoy Baskets and Bases — your chance to fling some discs where the Drillers play. Admission to play the 10 holes includes admission to the Roughnecks game. Learn all about Baskets and Bases by visiting https://www.facebook.com/basketcasedg/
